WELCOME DICK! As for building over operating, over the years I have been surprised at how many hams feel the same way. I admit that at many times in my life I have been an avid operator. but currently, because I live in an apartment, I find myself spending most/all of my time building antennas for portable use. I have about twenty-five wire antennas some of which are quite exotic in design. Some are up quick, others may take several hours to install, but it's always fun to do so. My next dream is to organize a wire-only DXpedition to the Canadian high-Arctic!!
