Radio Check - MCM Frequency Plan

KN4RPA
Calendar

Event details

Time is currently TBD.

We will have personnel monitoring the repeater frequencies being used by our 2023 Frequency Plan.  Come out and check your radio programming and/or your ability to hit the repeaters from your assigned location.  Frequency Plan will be published with the Operator's Guide by the end of September.  Watch Ham Community and your email for more information.

Time for the radio check on Monday, Oct 9th is 1200-noon to 2 pm ... or as long as there are stations wishing to check their programming. MCM Volunteers can try to hit any of the 12 repeaters used during the MCM from home, OR take a trip to your assigned location and call from there.  The 9th is a Federal holiday, so poarking in DC will be free!

Besides publishing the freq plan as part of the operating guide, look in the files section to find a programming file for both CHIRP and RT Systems shortly.  Hams will be available at the All Hands Traning session to program radios.

Any comments after the test today? Were there many check ins? People use HT’s or other radios and at what power levels? I am testing an ic 705 at 10 watts into a Nagoya whip with 3 radials under it. I had no contact on any net other than some below noise level contact on Echo at mile marker 2. I had no contact on any net at mile marker 9, 11 and 24. So if HT’s were able to check in, I’ve may have an antenna/power issue Or programming problem but I was able to hit echo after our 2m club net from my Falls Church QTH with this rig. Anyway would like to hear how check ins went and would enjoy another chance to test.
