   Vienna Wireless Winterfest — The National Capital Area Ham Radio Fair
   March 29, 2020
   
   The 44th annual Winterfest will bring hams and equipment vendors together on March 29, 2020.  Several amateur radio clubs will be on hand to provide information about the ham radio hobby, getting started, where to find instructional help for earning the amateur radio license and much, much more!  Vendors in new and used communications equipment, antennas, cabling, parts and supplies will also be on hand to help you find the hard-to-find.  Winterfest is an ARRL approved hamfest.

   Location:
   Winterfest 2020 will again be held at the Northern Virginia Community College Annandale Campus.  Click here for directions.
   For Visitors
   You’ll be able to find great deals on some of the best of both old and new gear.
   QSL Checking will be available on-site until 12 noon.
   For Vendors
   A large indoor exhibit space can accommodate over 100 vendors. It’s an opportunity to reach customers in a region with many licensed amateur radio operators, and one that has the highest per-capita income in the country. Several major cities are within a 90-minute driving distance. Don’t miss this chance to reach new customers!  The indoor exhibit space will be open for vendor setup from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on March 28 and from 6:30 – 8:00 am on March 29, 2020.

   Tailgate
   Winterfest 2020 will feature an outdoor tailgate area with 150 paved tailgate spaces. Tailgate space selection will be available on a first-come first-served basis. We have never run out of tailgate space.  Admission for everyone, vendors and the general public, begins at 6:00 am  Sunday.  The college does not permit overnight parking prior to the event.
   Schedule
   The indoor exhibit area (gymnasium) opens to the general public at 8 am on Sunday and will remain open until at least 1:00 pm. Nobody will be allowed into the exhibit area before 8 am without a vendor pass.

   Licensing Exams at…

   Licensing exams will be offered at Winterfest 2020!
   When: Sunday, March 29, 2020 — the same date as Winterfest.  Exams will start at 11:00 a.m.  Applicants must complete their exams by 12:30 p.m.
   Where: The exams will be offered in the CN Building rooms 219 and 231 at the Winterfest site — Northern Virginia Community College, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003. (See map below)
   Cost:  The exam fee is $15.  This fee covers a single attempt at all three exam elements.  (If a candidate fails an element and wishes to re-test, another fee is required).  Parking is free in the “B” lot at Winterfest events.  While we hope you will attend Winterfest2020!, there is no obligation to do so or to pay the Winterfest admission fee.
   What to bring with you:
   A print out with your FCC issued FCC Registration Number (FRN) and bring it with you.  We will not accept Social Security Numbers.   If you need to retrieve your FRN or to apply for an FRN, visit the FCC Universal Licensing System web site. A government issued photo ID.   Young people without a government issued ID may bring a school photo ID or a birth certificate if accompanied by a parent with ID. The original AND a photo copy of your current license or any earlier license for which you wish to claim exam credit if applicable.  The photo copy will not be returned. Two number 2 pencils with erasers and a pen A calculator with memories and formulas erased if desired.  You may NOT use the calculator function of your cell phone during exams.  Do NOT bring books, notes, or other written materials.
