My first exposure to radio was back in 1968 with my CB Citizen Band radio 🙂 I had my Midland CB base station with my Astatic D-104 mic located in the 3rd floor of our home in Upper Montclair, NJ with vertical Shakespeare Big Stick antenna mounted to the chimney. It wasn't Ham Radio, but it was a start.
My current rig is a Yaesu FT-991 with is concealed in my rollout-desk in my office.  I use a Comet GP-3 VHF/UHF antenna, and a NI4L OCF 40-6, Windom Poly-Stealth.
