D-104 with IC-730

The mic for my IC-730 broke and exact replacements are not available. I have an old Astatic D-104. What would it take to make that work with the 730?

They mentioned in one of the links that it doesn't sound as good as the Icom mic. Could that be due to the 104 being made during the days of tube radios and being of a difference in impedance than the Icom mic (which presumably would match the impedance of the radio)?

I just checked the specs. 

Icom 730 1300 ohms

D104 5000 ohms or less
