MTC Radio

We are Main Trading Company. We are a real brick and mortar retail store located at 2707 Lamar Ave in Paris Texas (about a hundred miles North East of Dallas). We are Christine and Richard Lenoir. 

We Started in 2009 when Richard Lost his job in sales due to a stuggling economy. We Started selling on ebay. We would drive to DFW and bring back small pick up loads of surplus and closeouts. Our neighbors were really proud of us when we received our first truckload delivery at our home! In just a few short months the volume got out of hand and our living room and patio looked like a warehouse. We rented a small store front in Beautiful downtown Paris Tx in June of 2009. We out grew that location and moved across the street to 139 Bonham st. In January 2010. Times got even tougher when Christy lost her job as a radio announcer. She came on full time as well.

In May of 2010 we knocked out a wall in our building downtown and doubled our size.  We moved again in November 2011 to 2246 Bonham st in Paris. We had hoped to stay there forever. Sometime in early 2011 we Reluctantlymade our first order for the Wouxun handheld radio as a suggestion from Bob W1PE SK.  When the shipment came in the entire order sold overnight. Since then thousands have been sold. Hundreds are still sold every month. Being an avid ham radio operator, Richard has alaways bought and traded used ham radio gear. Almost immediatly we started stocking and selling New Alinco  amateur gear. After much persuasion, Kenwood came on board in 2010. Icom came on board in 2012 and Yaesu came in September 2015. We stand month after month as the number one dealers in Texas for Kenwood, Icom and Alinco and now Yaesu . We are usually number Three,four or five in the nation month after month for many of the brands we sell. We are now factory authorized dealers for MFJ, Ameritron, Comet, Texas BugCatcher, Rohn Tower, JetStream,  LDG, RadioWavz and more. We have become the local experts on digital off air free TV reception in the area as well.

During the Summer of 2013 we had the opportunity to purchase a building of our own. Seeing this as an opportunity and an investment we did it. It took several months to totally remodel it but we finally got it opened and moved again. (hopefully this is the last time) We had our grand opening February 15, 2014. Well over 300 were here in Paris Texas to help us celebrate. Some estimated the crowd to be close to 500 or more. We gave away new radios and had lots of fun. Factory reps were on hand and a great time was had by all.

We  are still surplus buyers and liquidators dealing in electronic surplus, overstocks, returns, damaged and salvaged freight and closed out electronics. We have the ability to purchase and move small lots to semi loads fast! For more info or if you have an inventory to move let us know. In our retail store you will find lots of this.

There is not another store quite like ours. We even have a U.S. post office right here. You can buy stamps, ship packages, and mail your QSL cards. We can Postmark them with our own MTC postmark. 

We have  huge sales events during the year that are better than any hamfest you have ever been to.  

In 2015 Christy left the business full time and took a job in a field that she really loves. She is still very much involved in the business though. You will catch her in the store on many weekend when the crew is away at the many hamfests we attend.

Since the beginning of our business we have always attended hamfests and electronic shows. We average 28 a shows a year so we do stay busy.

We also do voice work! Christy, has been in radio for 20 plus years.  We have a full studio available to produce high quality voice overs.  Whether you need a voice for your company's telephone on-hold system or for your advertising needs, we can quickly produce whatever you need. You will hear Christy's voice on many repeater sytems, TV and radio stations coast to coast.

If you ever are in Paris Texas, Stop in for a visit. Most Saturdays it is a regular hamfest here with hams driving great distances to meet with others and to buy and trade radio gear here in the shop.

Over the last several years it has been quite a ride. We have learned that if we trust God and treat others fairly great things can and do happen.
