Blog post category: About the Community

Truth be told, we are excited. Throughout 2019, Ham Community has worked to develop the platform, iron out bugs, and most of all, listen to our membership to tailor the experience to what you want, not what we want. The good news is that most of the time, we want the same things. From a unique FCC lookup tool, unlike any other, to our very visual product reviews section, we are trying to make the amateur radio operator's online experience both useful and fun.

But now it's time to get serious and let the rest of the country know what our Capital region, where we are based, knows. The first intermediary step is Frostfest in Richmond, Virginia. This is no small event. It attracts several thousand people from hundreds of miles around Richmond. There you will find us in one of the commercial booths to the right of the entrance. If you come you will definitely meet me @K3MRI, you will meet Alan @W4DOI, and you might even meet Glenn @KW4TO who happens to live in Richmond! If he's late, he has no excuse... got that Glenn? 😎

Then, barely one week later, it's time for our first big showing. Yes, Ham Community will be exhibiting at Hamcation in Florida. We can't wait. Every year over 20,000 people attend. Some say as many as 26,000. That's a lot of amateur radio operators. The good news is we have some wonderful surprises to announce and give out at the show. Come by booth 099 if you would like to meet us, discuss with us, give us some pointers, and walk away with a couple of our new goodies.

And then comes May! What happens in May in Xenia, Ohio? Ham Community will be there too. We don't yet have our booth assignment but that doesn't matter much anyway, people who come to Hamvention walk every single space and so we're pretty sure that if you come to Hamvention, you will see our booth. This said, we'll let you know as soon as we have the number.

Of course, throughout the year, Ham Community will be present at multiple local and regional hamfests. The next one of note is none other than a very well established and respected hamfest, Winterfest organized by Vienna Wireless Society in March.

Can't wait to see you all and give you some free goodies!!
