Please mark your calendar to join us, via Zoom on Saturday, Nov 20th @ 1130. Our program will discuss a number of mystery radio stations (and not so mystery stations) that populate the HF bands, sometimes right in the middle of the US Amateur Radio bands. Would also like to point out that QCWA, in cooperation with (ARRL, Radio Club of America (RCA), Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB), and the Antique Wireless Association (AWA), are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the December 1921 Transatlantic tests, which proved that amateur signals could span the Atlantic. As such, RCA is hosting a QSO Party on November 13-14, 2021 See details at: https://www.radioclubofamerica.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=500767&module_id=475160)
Our December Holiday Party will be Saturday, Dec 11th @ 1130 at PJ Skidoos, in Fairfax. Hopefully the COVID situation will simmer down by December. This will be our Holiday Party & Social. We will talk about our tentative plans for 2022, and if anybody wishes to volunteer to be the Programs Chairman for next year, let me know!
QCWA is celebrating its 74th anniversary in early December, and conducting a Special Event Station, using the QCWA radio call, W2MM from 4-11 Dec. If anybody is interested in signing up to work the SES for an hour or two, let me know and I’ll get you added to the list. The SES will operate both CW and SSB on the harmonic bands.
